Bergen and Oslo-based foursome Softcore untd. is tough to classify. With lyrics sung in their native Norwegian, the boys combine house, hip hop and experimental productions with undeniable fluidity — a precarious feat made effortless on the strength of their raw talent and blanket of youth. Their debut single (for North American audiences) is track 'Sjansespill’, an unplaceable cut adrift with soft washes of guitar, propulsive drum hits and vocals that alternate between youthful yelps and growling croons.

Softcore untd. consists of Emir Hindic from Sushi x Kobe, Mathias Humlen who also performs as FAKETHIAS, and Andreas Høvset (aka Charlie Skein) and Vetle Junker of the band Verdensrommet. The collaboration started in 2015, when Hindic saw Verdensrommet at the festival Ekkofestivalen, afterwards approaching them and asking to add a verse on their song ‘Aldri igjen’. They agreed, and Softcore untd. took shape.

In 2017, Softcore untd. released their first single, ‘Skolebenken’, a mixture of Verdensrommet's melodic guitar chords and the hard hitting percussion parts from Sushi x Kobe and FAKETHIAS. Soon after they released a second single, ‘Fjern’, international audiences took notice and they began consistently selling out shows in Bergen and Oslo. They were then tapped by Princess Nokia to support her in Norway, and will play by:Larm festival this March. The group is steadily working on new material with plans for a full-length album to come soon.

Softcore untd.’s ‘Sjansespill’ releases February 9 on Cascine (North America) and Eget Selskap (Worldwide).
